CONTRIBUTION OF MODE B ULTRASOUND IN THE MANAGEMENT OF CATARACTS IN BAMAKO

Introduction: Cataract is a frequent ocular pathology in the world. The aim of our work was to study contribution mode B ultrasound diagnostic and therapeutic management cataracts radiology department medical clinic Marie Curie Bamako. Material Methods: This prospective, descriptive carried out imaging over period 2 years. Ocular examinations were performed exclusively with B-mode scanner by senior radiologists. All patients who an for notion cataract included study. Socio-epidemiological data, clinical information ultrasoundresultswereanalyzed. Results: We identified 75 cases cataract, i.e. 73.52% total (102 cases). median age 49.25 years male predominance 68% cases.The state posterior segment preoperative assessment represented most indication, respectively 40% 29.33%. Ultrasound pathological cases. common clouding lens (cataract) (36% other pathologies found on ultrasoundwereretinaldetachment (17.33%) intraocularhemorrhage (12%) dislocation (2.67%). Conclusion: accessible Bamako has allowed eye cataracts.
